RE: UNIFORM ORDERS FOR 2010

Dear Parents,

Please fine attached a Uniform Order Form for 2010. All prices have been revised. Some have gone up, some down and others have stayed the same.

Because some suppliers close down over Christmas, we would like to get in early and ensure that we have your orders ready for next year.

Please fill out one form for each student. More copies are available from the office or our website.

I am continually amazed at the blessing of God. It seems to follow us wherever we go. As the Bible says in Psalm 1:

“Blessed is the man
who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked…
“But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
“He is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither.
Whatever he does prospers.”

Here is a meditation on the power of words. This is particularly important for teachers. "The tongue has the power of life and death" (Proverbs 18:21).

Secondary students studying Food Design need to purchase an Apron for $7 from the Uniform Shop. Stock will arrive this week.

When Mrs Lindy Anning started our new Music Program this year, I didn't realise how privileged our students were, until I heard a snippet of the following program on ABC radio. Music can be something we take for granted, but is tremendously important in the development of the brain, imagination and learning processes.

Here is a summary of the program with a link at the bottom for more:

Changes to Secondary:

• Double English on Fridays
• Science singles on Monday and Wednesday mornings
• Wednesday session 1 and 2 swapped, so SOSE is now in middle session

The words of the apostle Paul come to mind: "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." (1 Cor 13:13)

I think that these three themes are worthy of our remembrance each day as we go upon our way.

FAITH:

• have a goal
• be bold
• remember the promises of God

HOPE:

• expect God to act
• have a positive attitude
• let your positive expectation drive back any doubt or spiritual opposition you may face
